City of sailors, maritime republic and birthplace of Christopher Columbus, throughout its long history Genoa was the “gateway” of the Roman Empire to the Mediterranean and remains one of the main ports in Europe and one of the cities with the best-preserved historic centers of the old continent.

Thanks to the City Sightseeing® Genoa double-decker open-top buses, the city’s only tourist service, visitors can admire its historical and artistic landmarks along two different routes, each with 11 stops: from Piazza Caricamento, overlooking the Old Port and the famous Aquarium, to the renowned Genova Principe Station, passing along Via Garibaldi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Piazza Ferrari via XX Settembre, and reaching the old fishing village of Boccadasse. In addition, those arriving by train or cruise ship can hop on at stops located just a short distance away.
