Contemplate breathtaking views of the majestic Cordon del Plata and enjoy lunch in the Uco Valley, an area renowned for its climate and soil, where not only the cultivation of vines is distinct but also home to Argentina's leading producers, who, attracted by the excellent terroir, have produced elegant and high quality wines.
We start our exciting excursion at 07:30 a.m. by route 40 towards the south of the province and then by route 86 towards the west to go to the village of Tupungato. On the way we are accompanied by the majestic Cordón del Plata, with the Tupungato Volcano (6820 m), the highest in the Andean massif. We enter the Uco Valley (an area of high altitude vineyards, at more than 1200 meters), ideal for the cultivation of fruit trees, potatoes and vegetables. We arrive at Tupungato, where we will visit and taste wines at the Atamisque Winery, owned by the Frenchman John Du Monceau, who fell in love with the place and decided to settle there. Visit to the winery, its park, golf course and lake (tasting not included).
Continuing with our group tour, we will visit the Cristo Rey del Valle monument and the historic Manzano, the place where General San Martin rested (under an apple tree) on his victorious return to the homeland and where today a monument stands in his honor. The tour ends with a delicious lunch in a local restaurant (lunch not included) and your return to Mendoza City.
