Get a taste of Sicily during your holiday in Malta with this full-day guided excursion. After a comfortable 90-minute crossing by catamaran, you will step ashore in Pozzallo, a picturesque Sicilian fishing village. From there, an air-conditioned coach will take you to explore the vibrant city of Catania and the majestic Mount Etna, Europe's largest and most active volcano.
The experience combines a guided walking tour through Catania's stunning Baroque architecture, free time for lunch and exploring traditional markets, and a scenic drive up the volcano's fertile slopes filled with Mediterranean orchards and forests. You will reach the Silvestri Craters at 2000 meters above sea level to take in spectacular panoramic views of the island.
Itinerary:
Malta Departure & Catamaran Crossing: Hotel pickup and a smooth 90-minute catamaran sail to the port of Pozzallo in Sicily.
Transfer to Catania: Travel by air-conditioned coach with your guide, enjoying the changing scenery of the Sicilian countryside.
Guided Walking Tour of Catania: Discover the vibrant city center, renowned for its rich history and stunning Baroque architecture.
Free Time in the City: Leisure time to visit Piazza del Duomo, Via Etnea, the Roman Amphitheatre, or the popular fish market, with time for lunch (not included).
Scenic Drive up Mount Etna: Head toward the volcano, passing through picturesque villages, fertile citrus groves, and changing forest landscapes.
