Discover the highlights of Angkor and Tonlé Sap Lake on a comprehensive three-day private tour from Siem Reap with an official guide, sunrise at Angkor Wat, included lunches and visits to the most iconic temples of the ancient Khmer Empire.
Discover the historical, cultural and natural wealth of Cambodia on this comprehensive three-day private tour from Siem Reap. Accompanied by an official guide in your selected language, you will explore some of the most impressive temples of the ancient Khmer Empire, witness the sunrise over Angkor Wat and discover the traditional way of life of the communities living around Tonlé Sap Lake.
The first day begins with pick-up from your accommodation in Siem Reap and transfer to the official ticket office of the Angkor Archaeological Park, where you will purchase your entrance pass before starting the tour. You will visit Ta Prohm, one of the park's most famous temples, renowned for its giant tree roots and for appearing in the film *Tomb Raider*. Afterwards, you will explore the peaceful Temple of Tanei, one of Angkor's lesser-visited gems, where nature and ancient architecture blend harmoniously. Following lunch at a local restaurant, you will discover the ancient fortified city of Angkor Thom, visiting the South Gate, Bayon Temple, Baphuon, the Terrace of the Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper King, the Royal Square and the former Royal Palace complex. At the end of the day, you will admire the sunset overlooking the majestic Angkor Wat before returning to your accommodation.
The second day begins before dawn to experience one of the highlights of the journey. As the sun rises over Angkor Wat, you will enjoy a takeaway breakfast prepared by your hotel before entering the temple to admire its extraordinary galleries and bas-reliefs. Afterwards, you will visit Banteay Kdei Monastery and, following lunch, continue to the temples of Banteay Srei and Banteay Samré, two magnificent examples of Khmer architecture renowned for the beauty and remarkable preservation of their intricate carvings.
The third day is dedicated to discovering the daily life of the communities living around Tonlé Sap Lake. You will begin with a visit to the local market of Roluos before travelling to Kompong Phluk, a remarkable village built on bamboo stilts to adapt to the seasonal changes in water levels. From there, you will enjoy a boat cruise through the village and across Tonlé Sap Lake, where you will see traditional houses, the local school, the Buddhist pagoda and the spectacular flooded forest, one of the region's most distinctive landscapes. The boat ride and the canoe ride through the flooded forest must be paid directly at the Kompong Phluk pier ticket office. After returning to land, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the Roluos Archaeological Complex to visit the temples of Preah Ko, Bakong and Lolei, considered the birthplace of the classical Khmer architectural style. Finally, you will return to your accommodation in Siem Reap, where the tour concludes.
As this is a private tour, you will enjoy a comfortable and flexible experience, with plenty of time to discover Cambodia's most important archaeological and natural treasures exclusively with your guide and your group.
