This full-day tour travels through some of Ireland's most breathtaking scenery, departing from Galway towards Connemara. The route passes through Oughterard on the banks of the River Corrib, with views of the Twelve Bens mountains, and continues to Maam Cross, where Connemara ponies and local wildlife can be spotted. Along the way, the tour passes points of historical interest and filming locations used in movies such as The Quiet Man, The Field and Marley & Me.
The tour continues to the picturesque village of Leenane, on the shores of Killary Fjord, Ireland's only fjord. From there it arrives at Kylemore Abbey and its Walled Gardens, where passengers have approximately two hours to explore the property, with access to a free shuttle service within the grounds, a restaurant and a gift shop.
The return journey to Galway continues through the Inagh Valley and Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) areas such as Camus and Screeb, before passing along the limestone landscape of South Connemara. The route follows the Wild Atlantic Way through Costello, Baile na hAbhann and Inverin, stopping in Spiddal (An Spidéal), where passengers can visit the Craft Village. The return to Galway is made via Salthill and Barna.
The tour includes an expert local guide, free hotel pick-up and entrance to Kylemore Abbey and its Walled Gardens. Lunch is not included.
