The tour begins with pickup from your accommodation in La Fortuna to start a day full of nature and adventure. Accompanied by a professional naturalist guide, you’ll enjoy a full day of exploration and learning about the flora, fauna, and history of this unique region. Your guide will take care of all logistics and safety details, so you can focus solely on enjoying the experience.
The first part of the journey takes place aboard a tractor that climbs up the mountain to a panoramic viewpoint. From there, the hike begins along a jungle trail that descends to the bottom of the canyon, crossing hanging bridges and surrounded by lush vegetation. As you continue, the sound of the water grows louder until you reach the majestic La Fortuna Waterfall, an impressive 60-meter cascade surrounded by volcanic rock.
At the base of the waterfall, you can take in the scenery, cool off in the crystal-clear waters, and swim in the natural pools that form downstream. This natural setting is perfect for relaxing, taking photos, and enjoying a moment of total connection with nature before beginning the ascent back.
Next, we’ll visit the Maleku Indigenous Village, where you’ll have the chance to learn about their customs, art, and history in their main Palenque. After the visit, we’ll enjoy a delicious traditional hot lunch, with healthy options suitable for all needs. Before continuing, you can savor a cup of Costa Rican coffee at the park’s ranch, and if you wish, visit the nearby butterfly garden and frog pond.
To end the experience in the best way, we’ll head to Relax Termalitas, a natural hot springs resort located at the foot of the Arenal Volcano. Here you can unwind in its ten thermal pools of varying temperatures, all fed by natural hot springs. The visit includes a complimentary traditional cocktail — the perfect way to relax and enjoy the surroundings before returning to your accommodation, carrying with you the memory of an unforgettable day in nature.
