You will discover Margaux and Cantenac as two complementary expressions of Bordeaux’s Left Bank, where great estates and outstanding wines reflect distinct nuances within the same appellation. While Margaux wines are usually more refined and floral, you will notice that Cantenac, being slightly less exposed to river influence, tends to offer greater intensity, structure and a more robust texture on the palate.
Throughout the tour, you will understand how the combination of clay and gravel soils in Cantenac favors a more concentrated fruit profile, with greater body and deeper earthy notes. This comparison will allow you to clearly identify how terroir influences style, even within a relatively nearby area.
The experience will be completed with a visit to a “Grand Cru Classé” winery and a visit to a second winery in Margaux, where you will be able to directly compare both profiles.
