You will venture into the Lake District, in the heart of Cumbria, one of the most beautiful regions of the United Kingdom. The experience will begin with your train departure from London Euston and, after arriving at Oxenholme station, a professional guide will provide an introduction to the culture, history, and local life of these distinctive landscapes.
Next, you will visit Hawkshead, a medieval village with narrow cobbled streets, closed to traffic, where you will find stone houses, ancient arches, 17th-century inns, and cozy tea rooms. As you stroll through the village, you will discover its connection to William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, and you may visit places such as Hawkshead Grammar School, where Wordsworth and his brother studied, or the Beatrix Potter Gallery, located in a historic building.
Afterwards, you will take a cruise on Lake Windermere, the largest in England, admiring mountains, small villages, and the lake’s islands from the water. Later, you will continue to Tarn Hows, a man-made landscape and one of the most photographed spots in the Lake District, before heading to Coniston, a village dominated by the Old Man of Coniston mountain and linked to its lake, also known for Donald Campbell’s water speed record.
