After being picked up from your hotel, you will travel through the rural countryside surrounding Siem Reap to the Kompong Phluk pier. There, you will board a private boat to begin your visit to this unique village, where houses, the pagoda and community buildings stand on tall wooden stilts to adapt to the changing water levels. Depending on the season, you will explore its streets on foot or by boat while discovering the daily life of its inhabitants.
If water levels permit, the experience will continue with a peaceful canoe ride through the flooded forest surrounding the village. Guided by a local resident, you will glide quietly among the trees while enjoying the tranquillity, lush vegetation and wildlife that make this ecosystem one of the most unique corners of Tonlé Sap Lake. During the dry season, approximately from December to June, this activity may not be available due to low water levels.
To conclude the excursion, you will board the boat once again and cruise across Tonlé Sap Lake while admiring the vastness of this extraordinary natural environment as the sun begins to set. Weather permitting, you will witness one of Cambodia's most spectacular sunsets before returning comfortably to your hotel in Siem Reap.
