This tour explores the renowned Côte de Beaune wine region on a half-day small-group experience from Dijon. Known for producing some of Burgundy's finest Chardonnay wines as well as refined Pinot Noir, this area combines prestigious vineyards with charming historic villages. The route travels through renowned appellations such as Meursault, Pommard and Volnay, while learning about Burgundy's unique vineyard classification system.
The meeting point is in central Dijon, where you'll meet your driver-guide and the rest of your small group before boarding an air-conditioned minivan heading south toward the Côte de Beaune vineyards. The route follows the Route des Grands Crus, passing vineyard-covered hills, stone walls and traditional wine estates, as the guide introduces Burgundy's Côte d'Or, its grape varieties and classification system.
The first stop is at a local winery, with a tour of the cellars and, when possible, a look at the vineyards. You'll discover vinification techniques and oak maturation, and taste a range of Côte de Beaune wines with guided commentary.
The second stop is in a historic wine village, such as Pommard or Volnay, with a short walking tour through stone streets and old cellars, and a visit to another producer for a further tasting.
