Arrival in Palermo and transfer to the hotel on your own. Time to relax and settle in. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel as you prepare for the journey ahead. Overnight stay in Palermo.
DAY 2
Palermo > Monreale > Palermo
Begin the day with a day trip to Monreale, famous for its Norman architecture and beautiful Cathedral, now declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy some time to shop for local products. Return to Palermo for a walking tour of the historic center. Discover the city’s cultural diversity through its palaces, churches, and lively streets. Visit the Cathedral, with its mixture of styles and rich history. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Palermo.
DAY 3
Palermo > Erice > Marsala (Wine Tasting and Regional Culinary Products) > Agrigento
Breakfast. Departure toward Erice, a charming medieval village on Mount San Giuliano. Its narrow streets invite you to enjoy a morning stroll. Continue toward Marsala, famous for its wine. We will visit a historic winery with a tasting and a light lunch of regional products. Afterwards, departure toward Agrigento. Visit the Valley of the Temples (admission included), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with monuments such as the Temple of Concordia, the Temple of Hercules, and the Temple of Jupiter, one of the largest examples of the Doric style. Arrival at the hotel in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 4
Agrigento > Ragusa Ibla > Ragusa
Breakfast at the hotel and departure toward Ragusa. Visit the charming historic center of Ibla, famous for its Baroque palaces and churches. Together with other towns of the Val di Noto, Ragusa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will see the ancient Gate of San Giorgio and stroll through the Iblei Gardens. We will walk to Piazza Pola to visit the Church of San Giuseppe. We will also admire the Cathedral of San Giorgio, the Church of the Souls in Purgatory, and Cosentini Palace, one of the most remarkable examples of late Baroque architecture in Sicily. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
DAY 5
Ragusa > Noto > Syracuse > Taormina
Breakfast at the hotel and departure toward Noto, a charming town known for its Baroque architecture. Visit the Cathedral of San Nicolò, restored after an earthquake, and stroll through the center. Continue toward Syracuse, in southeastern Sicily, to discover the island of Ortigia, the ancient heart of the city. Ortigia stands out for its Baroque churches and medieval palaces. After the visit, we will continue toward Taormina. Arrival in the afternoon and check-in at the hotel located in central Taormina. Time to rest and prepare for the included dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay.
DAY 6
Taormina > Mount Etna > Taormina
After breakfast at the centrally located hotel, departure toward Mount Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano and Italy’s highest mountain. Discover the volcanic activity and admire the ancient lava fields and black magma rock that characterize Etna’s landscape. Weather permitting, you will be able to ascend to an altitude of 1,800 meters. Afterwards, return to Taormina, the charming and romantic town located on Mount Tauro. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Free time to enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace. Overnight stay at the scheduled hotel in Taormina.
