This walking tour invites you to discover Edinburgh's Old Town with an Italian-speaking guide, passing through some of the city's most iconic and lesser-known corners. The tour begins with an overview of Edinburgh's history from its origins and continues along the Royal Mile, the main artery of the Old Town, where you will see the Mercat Cross.
Along the way, the route passes St Giles' Cathedral and introduces the figure of David Hume, one of the most important philosophers of the Scottish Enlightenment. The tour also reaches the Heart of Midlothian, the starting point for stories about justice, public executions and Edinburgh's darkest history.
The itinerary continues past the Writers' Museum, dedicated to Scottish authors such as Robert Burns and Sir Walter Scott, and heads down to Victoria Street and the Grassmarket, two of the city's most picturesque and historic areas.
