You will take a tour that combines history, coastal landscapes and Scottish cultural heritage, visiting some of the most emblematic places linked to the Wars of Independence and to the country’s academic and sporting traditions. This itinerary will offer a clear understanding of Scotland’s historical and natural identity.
At the beginning of the tour, you will head to Stirling, travelling through landscapes where some of the most important battles in Scottish history took place, well known to the public thanks to the film Braveheart. Once there, you will visit Stirling Castle, the former preferred residence of the Stewart dynasty, from which you will also be able to admire the William Wallace Monument.
The experience will then continue in Saint Andrews, a city dedicated to Scotland’s patron saint and located on the country’s east coast. Upon arrival, you will take a panoramic tour to identify its main points of interest, such as the cathedral, the castle, the golf clubs, the British Golf Museum and the beaches. You will then have free time for lunch. Optionally, you may continue to the Kingsbarns Distillery, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the malt whisky production process and take part in a tasting.
The tour will conclude with the return to Edinburgh, crossing the Firth of Forth and enjoying a view of the Forth Rail Bridge, an icon of Victorian engineering and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once back in the city, your guide will offer recommendations to continue exploring the capital in the following days, completing a varied and well-structured day.
