Our journey begins in the Sultanahmet area, where we'll leisurely stroll to the first iconic mosque, Hagia Sophia. Originally built in the sixth century A.D. by Byzantine emperor Justinian I, this historic landmark has transformed from an Orthodox Christian cathedral to a Catholic church, mosque, and museum over its nearly 1,500-year history.
Next on our itinerary is the magnificent Blue Mosque, officially known as The Sultan Ahmed Mosque. Built in the early 1600s by Sultan Ahmed I, despite lacking significant war achievements, it stands as a testament to his enduring legacy. Admire the mesmerizing blue tiles adorning the mosque, creating intricate geometric patterns and floral designs.
Our final stop for the day is the majestic Suleymaniye Mosque, situated on the Third Hill of Istanbul. For over 450 years, it held the title of the city's largest mosque until 2019. ● Visits to the Blue Mosque and Süleymaniye Mosque include interior access. However, entry may be restricted during prayer times or due to local regulations; in such cases, explanations will be provided from outside
● Clothing that exposes shoulders, armpits, back, or knees is not permitted at some sites on this tour. Dress code enforcement may be strict. Please bring a scarf or sweater to cover yourself or wear appropriate clothing
● As this tour includes visits to religious temples, the itinerary may be adjusted, extended, or shortened due to changes in prayer schedules throughout the year
● Only the Small Group Tour with Entrance Fee option includes admission to Hagia Sophia. If you do not select this option and wish to enter, you may pay the entrance fee in cash at the ticket office
● Guided explanations inside Hagia Sophia Mosque are prohibited. Guides may still accompany groups but cannot provide explanations. Silence is mandatory
● The mosque provides information through audio guides available in several languages. Visitors must bring their own headphones or purchase them at the entrance. QR codes will be scanned to access the content
● Museum cards are not accepted
● Access to the upper gallery is via stairs and is not recommended for visitors with mobility issues
● Please bring a camera, hat, comfortable shoes, insect repellent, cash for personal expenses, sunscreen, and sunglasses
