A phenomenon as unusual as it is mesmerizing, making this corner of Costa Rica one of the country’s most photographed spots.
During a moderate guided hike, you’ll explore trails surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, passing scenic viewpoints, small blue ponds, and areas where hot water bubbles up — clear evidence of the volcanic activity beneath your feet. Your naturalist guide will share fascinating facts about the local flora and fauna, and with a bit of luck, you might spot tropical birds, monkeys, or even the majestic tapir — the largest mammal in Costa Rica — cooling off in the river.
The trail leads to the spectacular Río Celeste Waterfall, a breathtaking cascade that plunges into a vivid blue pool framed by dense jungle vegetation. After enjoying the sights and the hike, we’ll head to Soda Irma, where a traditional Costa Rican lunch awaits — prepared with fresh ingredients and the authentic homemade flavor of the region.
After lunch, you’ll have the chance to take a refreshing swim in one of the Celeste River’s beautiful pools — the perfect way to end a day filled with nature and wonder.
