The experience will begin with pick-up from your hotel and the transfer to Profitis Ilias, the highest point on the island. From there, you will enjoy a panoramic view of Santorini and the Aegean Sea, while learning about the volcanic origin of the landscape. At the top, you will walk around the courtyard of the 18th-century monastery and visit the Chapel of Saint Nektarios, in a setting of calm and wide-open views.
Next, you will visit the village of Pyrgos, where you will stroll through winding alleyways, typical houses, and small shops, and climb up to its castle to enjoy open views of the surroundings. The tour will continue in Emporio, with a guided walk through its Venetian fortress and medieval layout. Later, you will reach Perissa Beach, known as the Black Beach, where you will have free time to swim or have lunch at a local taverna by the sea. During the day, you will also take part in a private tasting of local wines, learning about the production process and sampling three varieties made from native grape varieties.
The day will end in the village of Oia, where you will take a guided walk from the Church of Saint George through one of the quietest areas of the village. There, you will learn about its maritime past and admire captains’ mansions and homes carved into the rock. After reaching the castle area, you will have free time to take photos, stroll, or enjoy a drink before witnessing the famous sunset. Finally, you will return by bus to your hotel after a complete experience that brings together the landscapes, culture, and most recognizable essence of Santorini.
