This full-day tour from Catania combines two of Sicily’s most important UNESCO World Heritage Sites, offering a journey through Roman luxury and ancient Greek civilization.
Your experience begins in Piazza Armerina with a visit to the remarkable Roman Villa of Casale, built in the 4th century AD. This extraordinary villa is world-famous for its extensive collection of floor mosaics, covering approximately 3,500 square meters and depicting scenes from mythology, hunting and everyday Roman life. Believed to have belonged to a member of the Roman elite, the villa is explored independently, with informative panels available in every room.
After free time for an independent lunch, you will travel on to Agrigento to visit the Valley of the Temples, one of the most impressive archaeological parks in the Mediterranean. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, the valley includes the Temples of Hera, Concordia, Hercules and Zeus, standing as magnificent reminders of the ancient city of Akragas, founded in 582 BC by Greek colonists.
At the end of the tour, return to Catania after an enriching journey through Sicily’s classical heritage.
