Explore the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, Colombia's first wonder, an architectural and religious gem built in the hollows of an old salt mine.
We will begin our journey by leaving through the north of Bogotá to travel across the city's Savannah, where rural and urban landscapes blend into unique scenes of the Colombian tropics. Upon reaching the municipality of Zipaquirá, we will enter the imposing Salt Cathedral, a Catholic religious temple masterfully adapted into the hollows of a mine that is no longer exploited. During the underground tour, you can marvel at the architecture and engineering that transformed an industrial excavation into a spiritual sanctuary of light and salt, globally recognized as one of the most important works of Colombian engineering.
After concluding the visit inside the cathedral, we will take a brief panoramic tour through the historical center of the town. This walk will allow you to see and admire the colonial and republican architecture that Zipaquirá proudly preserves, reflecting its rich cultural heritage. Accompanied by a professional guide in a private service, this five-hour experience combines faith, mining history, and the region's architectural beauty in a fascinating setting. It is a mandatory visit for those who want to discover the treasures hidden in the depths of the Colombian earth.
