Full description This full-day tour from Catania combines the power of Mount Etna with free time in Taormina, offering a perfect balance between volcanic landscapes and Sicilian elegance. After being picked up in Catania, you will travel to the Etna Natural Park on the south side, reaching Rifugio Sapienza at 1900 meters above sea level, an area rich in colors, scents and dramatic volcanic scenery.

Upon arrival, guests can independently explore the Silvestri Craters, an accessible and fascinating introduction to Mount Etna. Those wishing to reach higher altitudes will have the opportunity to ascend up to approximately 2900 meters by cable car and 4x4 vehicles, subject to weather and volcanic conditions. This experience lasts around two and a half hours and allows you to walk on lava fields while enjoying breathtaking views from Europe’s highest and most active volcano. Ascent fees are not included and must be paid on the spot.

For guests not interested in the ascent, a lunch at a local winery can be added at extra cost and must be requested at booking time. In the afternoon, the tour continues to Taormina, where you will enjoy free time to relax, stroll through the historic center or independently visit the Greek Roman Theatre.
