Discover the history, culture and traditions of Cambodia on this private full-day tour of Phnom Penh. Accompanied by an official guide in the selected language, you will explore the city's most important landmarks, combining magnificent historic buildings, Buddhist temples, museums and traditional markets to discover the essence of one of Southeast Asia's most fascinating capitals.
Your day begins with hotel pick-up and a visit to the Royal Palace, the official residence of the Cambodian royal family and one of the finest examples of classical Khmer architecture. Within the palace grounds you will discover the famous Silver Pagoda, renowned for its floor made of thousands of silver tiles and for housing some of the country's most important religious treasures. You will then visit the National Museum of Cambodia, where you will learn about the historical and artistic development of Khmer civilisation through one of the country's finest archaeological collections.
After lunch at a local restaurant, you will continue to Ounalom Monastery, one of Cambodia's most important Buddhist centres, where you can observe the daily life of the monks and gain an insight into the importance of this religious site. Later, you will visit Wat Phnom, considered the founding symbol of the city and located at the highest point in Phnom Penh.
To end the day, you will explore the lively Russian Market (Phsar Toul Tom Poung), one of the capital's most popular markets, where you will find handicrafts, antiques, souvenirs and typical Cambodian products before returning comfortably to your hotel.
