Discover the essence of Lisbon and Belém in a unique adventure combining a walking tour of historic districts, an iconic yellow tram ride, a bike route along the Tagus, and a relaxing river cruise.
This experience begins in the emblematic Rossio Square, the beating heart of Lisbon, where history is felt in every cobblestone. We will walk towards Restauradores Square to board the Elevador da Glória, the famous yellow tram that will lift us to Bairro Alto. From the São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint, we will enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramas of the city before visiting the Church of St. Roque, home to one of the most valuable chapels in the world. The tour will allow us to admire the evocative ruins of the Carmo Convent, a testimony to the great earthquake of 1755, as we descend toward the Baixa Pombalina, the historic and commercial center of the capital.
The narrative continues in the picturesque Alfama district, where we will let ourselves be engulfed by the imposing architecture of the Lisbon Cathedral, the oldest church in the city. After exploring its labyrinthine streets, we will follow the guide to Praça do Comércio, one of the most majestic squares in Europe opening onto the Tagus estuary. Here we will change pace to board a bicycle and pedal seven kilometers along a flat riverside path toward Belém. During the journey, we will pass under the April 25th Bridge and admire the modern MAAT Museum before entering the monumental area that honors the great Portuguese explorers.
In Belém, the Manueline architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery will take your breath away. A mandatory stop at the historic Pastéis de Belém pastry shop, founded in 1837, will allow us to taste the famous sweet with its secret original recipe. We will conclude our visits at the Belém Tower, a defensive bulwark and UNESCO World Heritage Site. As a final touch to this adventure, we will board a boat to relax while sailing along the Tagus, contemplating Lisbon's skyline from a unique perspective as we gently return to Praça do Comércio.
