Your journey proceeds to Rethymno, one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Greece. Stroll through the enchanting Old Town, admire Venetian and Ottoman influences and enjoy an optional lunch among its historic streets.

In the afternoon visit the impressive Venetian Fortezza, perched atop Paleokastro Hill. Built between 1540 and 1570 using over 100,000 Cretans in compulsory labor, the fortress offers sweeping panoramic views over Rethymno. Despite its turbulent history and the Ottoman conquest in 1646, its outer fortifications remain remarkably intact.
