A great introduction to the city of Zagreb that focuses both on history and culture as well as the modern everyday life of the city. At a moderate pace, you will explore Gradec and Kaptol, the medieval predecessors of Zagreb, visiting all the main landmarks of the city, including Ban Jelačić Square, the Stone Gate, St. Mark’s Church, Lotrščak Tower, Zagreb Cathedral, the World War II underground tunnels, and many more.
The tour takes visitors to Gradec and Kaptol, two medieval settlements on which Zagreb was founded. Located on opposing hills, they still tell the story of cooperation and conflicts that shaped the Zagreb we know today.
While walking the cobbled streets, visitors will see the 13th-century Stone Gate, St. Mark’s Church with its famous colorful rooftop, Lotrščak Tower, which still marks noon with a cannon shot, the Bloody Bridge, the scene of numerous battles throughout the centuries, the monumental Zagreb Cathedral, and much more. At the end of the tour, our guests will feel like they know Zagreb by heart, ready to explore everything the city has to offer.
