Welcome to our tour of Tirana, the capital of Albania. Start your adventure at the Clock Tower in Skanderbeg Square, where you will find a monument dedicated to the Albanian national hero, Skanderbeg. This place is perfect for taking pictures and learning about the history of Albania.
After the photo stop, we will continue to the National Museum, which is one of the most emblematic places in the city. Its huge mosaic on the façade represents the development of Albanian history and the stages of this development are presented in the respective pavilions. Here, you can learn more about the culture and history of the country.
The tour continues through the most important buildings of Tirana, such as the Palace of Culture/Opera/National Library, the Ethem Bey Mosque, the Clock Tower, Bunkart 2, the National Art Gallery, the Tirana Castle, the Parliament, Ura e Tabakeve, the Catholic Cathedral, the Namazgjah Mosque, main government buildings, the Pyramid, the Prime Minister's building, the Congress Palace and Mother Teresa Square.
In the Archaeological Museum, numerous archaeological finds from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages are presented. The Polytechnic University, the Presidential Palace, the Cold War Corner (a Bunker, part of the famous Political Prison Spac, and a piece of the Berlin Wall) are also places not to be missed.
The tour includes a visit to Ex-Blloku, an area that used to be the most beautiful and protected area where the families of former communist leaders lived. Continue to the Youth Park, Taiwan, the Orthodox Cathedral (optional visit to the Christian Heritage souvenir shop) and the House of Leaves Watch Museum.
It is important to note that all visits are from the outside, which means you will enjoy the views and learn about Tirana's culture and history without entering the buildings. The tour ends at the National Bank in Skanderbeg Square.
