The journey begins at Porta Marina, one of the city's original gates, and continues to the Civil Forum, Pompeii's bustling political, religious and commercial heart, surrounded by grand temples and public buildings, including the Basilica, once used for legal affairs and business dealings, all unfolding under the looming silhouette of Mount Vesuvius.
The itinerary continues down Via dell'Abbondanza, the main street lined with shops, homes and deep chariot grooves etched into stone, reaching the Theater District, where the Large Theater stands out, an open-air venue once used for comedies, dramas and musical performances. Nearby, you'll explore a beautifully preserved bath complex, as well as the Lupanare, the city's ancient brothel, adorned with vivid frescoes.
