Built in 1036, Yvoire's castle is the target of all photography-lovers. The military dungeon built in the 14th century was used to control the road that linked Geneva to the high valley of the Rhône, and to Italy. Regarded as one of the most beautiful villages of France, medieval Yvoire is situated right beside the Leman Lake. Sample one of the local specialties - a fish dish called filet de perche - in front of the magnificent Lake.
