Explore the Arenal Volcano and Baldi Hot Springs, passing through the artisan town of Sarchí with views of the volcano.
This tour offers the striking backdrop of the imposing Arenal Volcano and the soothing thermal waters of Baldi Hot Springs, surrounded by lush vegetation and unforgettable views. En route to the volcano, a stop is made at the famous town of Sarchí, known as the birthplace of Costa Rica's artisans, where you can admire numerous crafts and souvenirs, as well as the world's largest ox cart according to the Guinness Book, standing two storeys tall, nearly 14 metres long and made of cedar wood.
The journey continues through diverse agricultural plantations, including pineapple and plantain farms, mango groves, ornamental plants and cattle ranches, before arriving at the small town of La Fortuna, where lunch is enjoyed with a magnificent view of the volcano. The impressive Arenal Volcano, previously assumed dormant until its major eruption in 1968, is now visited by tourists from around the world hoping to witness its volcanic activity.
Afterwards, you can relax at one of the best hot springs in the area, enjoying the cleansing and rejuvenating effects of the thermal waters, sourced from 25 separate mineral water reservoirs flowing naturally from the volcano, with temperatures ranging from 93 to 152 degrees Fahrenheit. For a perfect ending, before heading back to San José, a wonderful dinner is served with a great view of the volcano.
