Visit the Hill of Tara, Trim Castle, the Loughcrew passage tombs and Fore Abbey on a full-day tour through Ireland's Ancient East, with guide and transport included from Dublin.
This full-day tour from Dublin visits some of the most important sites in Ireland's Ancient East, the historic region of eastern Ireland. Departure is at 8:00 am from central Dublin, in an air-conditioned vehicle with a guide on board throughout the journey.
The first stop is the Hill of Tara, the ancient ceremonial seat of the High Kings of Ireland, with entry included. The tour then continues to Trim Castle, Ireland's largest Norman castle, where visitors can freely explore the surrounding grounds (entry to the castle and museum is not included).
In the morning the group also visits the Loughcrew passage tombs, one of Europe's oldest megalithic complexes, with entry included. After lunch on your own at Fore Distillery, the tour ends with a visit to Fore Abbey, also with entry included.
Return to Dublin is expected at 6:00 pm. As a full-day guided tour, it's ideal for those who want to see several of the most important historic sites in the east of Ireland without having to arrange transport themselves.
