You will discover Cambridge through a combined experience that brings together a walking tour and a punt ride along the River Cam, designed to offer a deeper understanding of the University and a relaxed way to enjoy the city from the water. Throughout the activity, you will first walk through historic streets and university colleges, and then continue along Cambridge’s most characteristic riverside landscape.
The experience will begin with a shared walking tour led by Cambridge University alumni and students, who will provide a closer insight into the college system and university life. As you explore the city center, you will learn about traditions, rivalries, and student customs, and pass by some of the most renowned colleges, such as King’s College, Trinity College, and St John’s College, understanding their influence on figures like Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, and Alan Turing.
If you wish to enhance your visit, you may optionally add entry to King’s College Chapel during the walking tour, subject to availability on the day. This option will allow you to step inside one of the most remarkable Gothic buildings, with explanations from your guide to provide context for the visit.
After completing the walking tour, you will continue the experience on the River Cam with a shared chauffeured punting experience. You will depart from Mill Lane, near Mill Pond, and glide along the famous college backs while your chauffeur provides live commentary, passing under historic bridges and admiring the architecture, gardens, and most iconic views of Cambridge.
