Embark on an immersive adventure to one of the most spectacular areas of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. This full-day tour will take you through dense forests, crystal-clear lakes, and waterfalls to the base of the imposing Cerro Tronador. Standing at 3,554 meters above sea level, it is the highest peak in the region and acts as the natural border between Argentina and Chile. Its name (The Thunderer) honors the booming sound of falling ice that echoes like real thunder across the mountain.
The journey begins in Bariloche, heading south along the legendary National Route 40 and bordering the beautiful Gutiérrez and Mascardi lakes. The route ascends along a winding mountain road to reveal stunning panoramic views of the Manso River valley. After making a stop at the picturesque Pampa Linda lodge, the trail continues to the base of the mountain and culminates at the famous Ventisquero Negro (Black Snowdrift), a striking glacier known for its unique dark coloration.
The excursion lasts approximately 9 to 10 hours and operates year-round, allowing you to choose between a shared group tour (with a bilingual guide) or a private service. Meeting point
Pick-up and drop-off at downtown hotels and hotels located on Avenida Bustillo up to km 8. Pick-up and drop-off are not included for passengers staying in Airbnb apartments. Drop-off is not included for passengers staying between km 9 and km 25 (Llao Llao) on Avenida Bustillo. These passengers will be dropped off in the city center and must return to their hotels on their own.
