The adventure begins at Ancient Kamiros, one of the most remarkable archaeological sites on Rhodes. Located on the island’s northwest coast near Kalavarda, Kamiros was founded by the Dorians and flourished as a city-state in antiquity. Built across three tiers, the upper level featured the acropolis with the Temple of Athena and a grand stoa. The middle terrace hosted a sophisticated urban layout with parallel streets and residential blocks, while the lower level included a Doric temple, a central fountain square, the agora, and altars dedicated to multiple deities.
