This full-day coastal excursion combines the archaeological highlights and seaside beauty of the historic Lycian region. Departing from your hotel, the scenic drive follows the Mediterranean shoreline toward the historic town of Demre. The journey begins at the ancient city of Myra, renowned for its dramatic rock-cut tombs carved into steep cliffs and a remarkably preserved Greco-Roman theater that showcases the architectural skill of the Lycian civilization.
The cultural itinerary moves on to the historic Church of St. Nicholas in Demre, dedicated to the ancient bishop whose life inspired the legend of Santa Claus. Visitors explore the history of the saint and view the sanctuary associated with his original resting place. Following the morning exploration, a relaxing lunch break is provided before heading to the coastal harbor.
