Full description
Known as the "Florence of the Elbe", Dresden is one of the most beautiful and visited cities in Germany. On this full-day excursion with a Spanish-speaking guide, you'll explore its historic centre, faithfully reconstructed, and discover the city's history, marked by the bombing it suffered during World War II.
From Prague, in under two hours, you'll cross the border between the Czech Republic and Germany to reach Dresden, known as the "Florence of the Elbe". Its historic centre has been rebuilt with great faithfulness to its original appearance.
The excursion departs from the meeting point in Prague at 9:00 AM, arriving in under two hours in Dresden, capital of the state of Saxony. Along the way, the guide will share numerous events from the city's history, both positive and difficult, particularly those related to the final days of World War II, when Dresden was almost entirely destroyed by bombing. Many of the buildings seen during the walk still contain original rubble, reused during the city's postwar reconstruction.
The guided tour includes, among other stops, the Zwinger Gardens, the Catholic Cathedral, the Semper Opera House (Semperoper), the Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche), the Church of the Holy Cross (Kreuzkirche), the Elbe Balcony (Brühl's Terrace) and the Albertinum, as well as the Procession of Princes.
At the end of the guided tour, passengers will have free time, coordinated with the guide, to have lunch at leisure and, if desired, buy souvenirs. The return time is also arranged with the guide at the end of the tour; under normal conditions, arrival back in Prague is expected at approximately 6:00 PM.
