Discover Mount Batur, one of Bali's most iconic active volcanoes, on a hiking route led by a local guide. The climb is suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers and can be done at sunrise or sunset, with hotel pickup or meeting directly at the start of the trail, depending on the option chosen.
On the sunrise options, the ascent begins in the dark to reach the summit before dawn. From the viewpoint, watch the light gradually illuminate Lake Batur and Mount Abang, Mount Agung and even Mount Rinjani in Lombok, while enjoying a simple breakfast with a hot drink. Afterwards, the route continues along the crater rim, among steam vents rising from the ground.
After the descent, each option follows its own path. The hot springs option offers a relaxing soak in natural springs and a break at a coffee plantation to taste its teas and coffees, a stop also included in the option with pickup. The swings option descends towards the village of Toya Bungkah, visits a Balinese coffee plantation and continues to Bali Swing to swing over the jungle and take photos in the bird's nest, before an Indonesian buffet lunch. The option without pickup ends upon returning to the start of the trail.
On the sunset option, the trail winds through traditional villages, temples and farms, with views of the tropical forest and the caldera, away from the morning crowds. At the summit, watch the sunset while tasting eggs and bananas cooked in the volcano's steam, before starting the descent and returning to the hotel.
