Travel to one of the most breathtaking landscapes in northern Argentina with this excursion to the Salinas Grandes, a vast white salt flat stretching between the provinces of Salta and Jujuy. The journey follows the Jujuy route, ensuring the best views at the best times of day. From the start, the road takes us through mountains, valleys, and charming Andean towns full of color and tradition.
Departing from Salta, we take National Routes 9 and 34, passing through General Güemes before entering Jujuy. Along the way, we drive through part of the Quebrada de Humahuaca and visit traditional villages like Yala, Volcán, and Purmamarca, where we’ll admire the iconic Hill of Seven Colors. From there, the route climbs the winding Cuesta de Lipán, a stunning mountain road that reaches 4,170 meters above sea level, offering incredible views and a chance to spot llamas, condors, and high-altitude flora.
At the Salinas Grandes, we’re welcomed by an endless white landscape under the deep blue sky—a surreal setting perfect for creative selfies and unforgettable photos.
