Discover the German heritage of southern Chile by exploring Llanquihue, Frutillar and Puerto Octay on a day trip with views of the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes
We will start our excursion heading to the city of Llanquihue, famous for its cured meats and the source of the Maullín River, which is part of the old Settlers' Route. From there we will travel along the impressive Lake Llanquihue, enjoying panoramic views of the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes, until we reach our next destination.
Once in Frutillar, a beautiful town with deep Bavarian reminiscences that emerged in 1856, we will walk among its charming old German-style houses and well-kept gardens. During the tour we will see the famous Teatro del Lago, venue of internationally renowned musical weeks. Optionally, passengers can access the German Colonial Museum (subject to availability and at the client's expense).
Finally, we will head to Puerto Octay, located on the northern shore of the lake, an enclave marked by strong German influence and which served as the first departure port for agricultural products to Osorno. We will walk through its historical streets and its square before beginning our return.
