Small-group day trip from Barcelona to Montserrat with a rack railway ride, a visit to the Basilica and La Moreneta, and a local wine and cheese tasting with a sommelier.
The trip starts in Barcelona, where you travel by air-conditioned coach to Montserrat with a local guide. At the mountain, the group boards the rack railway up to the monastery, a ride with wide views over the mountain.
In Montserrat, your guide leads the visit to the Basilica and La Moreneta, the famous Black Madonna, while sharing the history and spirituality of the sanctuary. The tour also includes entrance to the Espai Audiovisual Montserrat and a tasting of four traditional liqueurs.
After the guided visit, a sommelier leads a tasting of local wines and cheeses, a chance to discover the flavors of Catalonia right on the mountain. Before returning to Barcelona, there is free time to explore Montserrat on your own, enjoy the scenery or stroll through the local produce market. Food and drinks other than the tastings are not included.
As the tour runs in small groups, the guide can offer a more personal experience and the visit follows a more relaxed pace.
