Discover the elegance and rich history of Romania on an excursion from Brașov that combines royal majesty and stately architecture. The tour begins in Sinaia with a visit to Peleș Castle, a dazzling 19th-century summer residence considered one of the most beautiful castles in Europe and famous for being the first on the continent to feature full electrification and modern amenities. The journey continues with an exploration of the Sinaia Monastery, founded in 1695, before transferring to Bușteni to admire Cantacuzino Castle—a Neo-Romanian architectural gem surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of the Bucegi Mountains, renowned for its gardens, unique heraldry, and its recent prominent role as a filming location for the series Wednesday.
Schedule:
Departure from Brașov to Sinaia: Approximately a 50-minute drive through the Prahova Valley, surrounded by forests and mountain landscapes.
Guided Tour of Peleș and Pelișor Palaces: Walk through the opulent, ornate rooms of Peleș Palace, followed by an exterior view or visit of the neighboring Art Nouveau royal residence.
Tour of Sinaia Monastery: Exploration of this historic 17th-century Orthodox complex founded by Prince Mihail Cantacuzino.
Lunch Break: 30 to 45 minutes of free time to relax and enjoy local cuisine.
Transfer to Bușteni and Visit to Cantacuzino Castle: A 20-minute drive to explore this 1911 stately manor, stroll through its grounds with waterfalls and grottoes, and admire its halls displaying coat-of-arms heraldry.
