The day trip departs early from the Crown Tours office in Rome, in an air-conditioned minivan with an English-speaking guide and driver for the whole day. The first stretch of the journey includes a breakfast stop before arriving in Pompeii.
Once at the archaeological site, a licensed guide takes over and leads the group through the streets of the ancient Roman city, with stops at the Basilica, the Forum, the baths, taverns and the House of the Faun, among other points, as well as the famous body casts preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. An audio system is used throughout the tour for guests to hear the guide clearly.
From Pompeii, the route continues along the coast toward Sorrento, with panoramic stops to take in views over the Bay of Naples. Once in Sorrento, the group enjoys an Italian lunch with pizza and sea views before heading back to Rome at the end of the day.
As a small group of up to 14 passengers, the experience keeps a relaxed, personalized pace throughout the day.
