You will discover the city of Nîmes and its exceptional Roman heritage, beginning with a visit to the Arènes de Nîmes, a remarkably well-preserved amphitheater that is still used today for bullfights and concerts. Admission is included, although access may be limited during special events. Next, you will enjoy a photo stop at the Maison Carrée, considered the best-preserved Roman temple in the world and a unique example of classical architecture.
The day continues at the monumental Pont du Gard, an impressive Roman aqueduct bridge connecting the two banks of the Gardon River. Entrance to the museum is not included, but you may walk around the site and admire this masterpiece of engineering. Later, you will head to Orange, where you will visit its imposing Roman Theatre (entrance included) and make a photo stop at the Triumphal Arch. During the day, you will have free time to enjoy lunch on your own before continuing to explore the Roman grandeur of the region.
