Embark on a nighttime journey through Roman history on this immersive walking tour, with an expert guide sharing the city's secrets, history and fascinating tales, from antiquity through to the modern day, in a small group of up to 15 guests. The tour begins in Piazza Navona, Rome's most picturesque square, built above an ancient stadium and crowned by Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers.
A short walk away stands the Pantheon, built more than 2,000 years ago by the emperor Hadrian and consecrated as a monument to all the pagan gods, one of the best-preserved monuments of the Roman Empire, whose unreinforced concrete dome still puzzles architects today. The route continues to the iconic Trevi Fountain, immortalised on film and considered one of the most romantic spots in the Eternal City, where you'll discover its symbols in the moonlight.
The itinerary continues to Piazza Venezia, Rome's most recognisable square, and on along Via dei Fori Imperiali, passing Trajan's Column and the forums of Trajan, Augustus and Nerva, on the way to the most famous monument of all. The tour ends beneath the Colosseum, one of the most awe-inspiring feats of architecture and engineering to survive from antiquity.
