Walking across the hanging bridges offers a privileged view of the flora and fauna of Monteverde, an environment renowned for its unique biodiversity. From above, the cloud forest reveals all its layers, offering a complete perspective of its natural richness. The trails winding through the trees create an ideal setting for observing species native to this special region of Costa Rica.
The tour includes approximately three kilometers of trails connecting eight bridges with lengths ranging from just over fifty meters to more than one hundred and fifty meters. Each bridge is wide enough to ensure comfortable passage for visitors and can support large groups without compromising stability. This network of structures makes the experience one of the longest, safest, and most robust hanging bridge tours in the country, immersed in the heart of the cloud forest.

If a pick-up point near your hotel is confirmed, please note that you will need to take a taxi, as most hotels do not allow parking for non-hotel guests. Uber and public buses do not serve the park
● Free round-trip transportation is available from select hotels on our pickup list in and around the Monteverde area for customers who book main activities or packages. The pickup points are: after school in Los Llanos, after the San Luis junction, and after Hotel Tityra
● IF YOU HAVE BOOKED WITH TRANSFERS: Please provide all your accommodation details when making your booking. It is very important to note that if you do not receive communication from the local provider, it is your sole responsibility to contact the local number shown on your voucher one day before the service to confirm the exact pick-up point and time. Visitors must be in the hotel lobby 15 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time
● Scheduled return times: 11:00 a.m. / 1:00 p.m. / 2:00 p.m. / 3:00 p.m. / 4:30 p.m. Guests must wait in the park lobby at least 5 minutes before the scheduled departure time. If your hotel is located far away, the shuttle can drop you off in downtown Santa Elena, Monteverde, and from there you can take an Uber or taxi at your own expense
● The park reserves the right to cancel the tour due to weather conditions, thunderstorms, or other phenomena that may endanger the safety of customers or staff
● Here are some tips to help you make the most of your visit: Clothing and footwear: Bring extra clothes, as the weather can change quickly and it may rain or get cold. Insect repellent is not permitted in the exhibits. Wear long pants, comfortable shoes (sandals are not permitted), a raincoat (if needed), binoculars, and a camera. Caps not permitted
● How difficult is the hike? Moderate. The trails are safe and you can walk at your own pace
● Pets are not allowed to protect local wildlife and preserve its habitat. Only certified service animals assisting visitors with special needs are permitted
● In accordance with our conservation programs and government regulations, touching, holding, or feeding the animals is not permitted. However, you can observe them up close in their specially designed habitats
● Drones are not permitted for reasons of safety, privacy, and wildlife protection
● Outside food is not allowed, except for a small snack. We have a restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch, desserts, and drinks
● For safety reasons, backpacks are not allowed during the treetop tour
● All visits are guided to ensure both visitor safety and animal welfare. Each guided tour (butterflies, reptiles, or sloths) lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes
● National Rate: This rate applies to all Costa Ricans with a valid identity card and residents with a valid residence card issued by the Ministry of Migration and Foreigners
● Suspension bridges/habitats: suitable for all ages
● IMPORTANT CANOPY TOUR: From 4 years old, accompanied by an adult. In the case of children between 4 and 11 years old, the head guide will decide if they can participate individually or must be accompanied by a guide (provided that the special harness fits the child's waist). Not suitable for: pregnant women, people who have recently undergone surgery, people with heart conditions or fractures. Maximum weight: 125 kg or maximum harness measurements (waist 120 cm / leg 75 cm)
