Your experience begins with a visit to the National History Museum. We offer pick-up from your hotel for added convenience. This museum houses an impressive collection of over 650,000 cultural artifacts, spanning historical periods such as the Paleolithic, Neolithic, Eneolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age, New Iron Age, Roman Age, Late Antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the modern history of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom, along with a prominent numismatics section.
The tour continues with a visit to the Boyana Church, renowned for its frescoes, considered one of the earliest manifestations of Renaissance art in Medieval Europe. This UNESCO World Heritage Site will captivate you with its artistic and historical significance.
Next, enjoy a stroll along Pancharevo Lake, a serene spot to relax and connect with nature. There will be free time for lunch in a pleasant setting before continuing to explore the city.
The afternoon is dedicated to a tour of Sofia’s heart, starting at the iconic Slaveykov Square. Discover significant historical landmarks such as Roman Serdika, Sveta Petka Chapel, the Mineral Baths, Banya Bashi Mosque, the Sofia Synagogue, and Sveta Nedelya Church. You’ll also admire the Statue of Saint Sofia, a symbol of the city, and the Catholic Cathedral.
At Independence Square, explore landmarks such as the Council of Ministers, the Presidency with its ceremonial guards, the Rotunda of Saint George, the Bulgarian National Bank, and the Archaeological Museum (viewed from outside). Then, visit the Russian Church and the garden in front of the National Theater, a perfect spot for memorable photos.
The tour continues to the Tsar Osvoboditel Monument and the National Parliament, followed by a visit to the majestic Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral, where you can explore its impressive interior.
