You will take a full-day trip from Milan to discover Verona and Sirmione, two destinations in northern Italy that combine history, literature, architecture, and landscapes beside Lake Garda. Throughout the day, you will explore one of the country’s most romantic cities and an ancient fortified village located on a peninsula of great natural beauty.
After the journey from Milan, you will arrive in Verona, where you will take a guided tour following in the footsteps of Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare’s famous play. During the tour, you will be able to see the residence attributed to the Capulet family and admire the famous balcony associated with the love story of the two protagonists.
Although Verona is especially known for this literary work, the city also offers an important historical and architectural heritage. You will be able to admire its famous Roman amphitheater, built in the 1st century AD and currently used for renowned open-air opera performances. The tour will also include squares and notable corners of the historic center, such as Piazza Mercato and other representative spaces of the city.
After the guided tour, you will have free time to have lunch, explore Verona at your own pace, do some shopping, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of the historic center in one of its cafés. This break will allow you to discover the city in a more personal way before continuing with the second part of the excursion.
In the afternoon, the tour will continue toward Sirmione, an ancient fortified village located at the end of a narrow peninsula that extends into Lake Garda. From there, you will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the eastern and western shores of the lake, stroll through its streets, and, if you wish, take an optional boat ride on the lake. At the end, you will return to Milan with an experience that combines culture, literature, Roman history, and lakeside landscapes.
