Full description
Experience the true soul of Sicily on this immersive rural tour through the Madonie Mountains, far from the usual tourist routes. Departing from Agrigento, the journey leads to a small off-the-beaten-path village where time seems to have stood still, offering an authentic glimpse into traditional Sicilian life.
The day begins with a visit to a local dairy producer, where you will learn about traditional cheese-making techniques and enjoy a tasting of high-quality local dairy products. Weather permitting, the tour continues to the fascinating Grotte della Gurfa, an extraordinary archaeological site carved entirely into rock. Dating back to the Bronze Age, these caves are shrouded in mystery and legends, including theories linking them to King Minos.
Enjoy a homemade picnic-style lunch featuring zero-mile ingredients, served in a warm and friendly atmosphere. In the afternoon, visit the charming village of Alia to interact with locals and observe traditional artisans at work. A perfect tour for travelers seeking culture, history, and authentic Sicilian traditions.
