Full description The Royal Alcázar of Seville, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 along with the Archive of the Indies and Seville Cathedral, is one of the city’s most emblematic landmarks, capable of leaving a lasting impression on memory and sight. Among its most remarkable spaces are the Prince’s Garden, the Patio of the Maidens, the Admiral’s Hall, the Upper Royal Room, and the Patio of the Hunt.

Its origins date back to the High Middle Ages, though it still preserves elements of Islamic art that impress with their delicacy. However, the predominant style is Mudejar, accompanied by Gothic features that enrich the experience of exploring its chambers.

Over the centuries, the palace was expanded with Renaissance and Baroque details. In the 14th century, King Pedro ordered the demolition of the Almohad palaces to build a new Mudejar-style residence, adjoining the Gothic one of Alfonso X, to serve as the Royal House. This palace complex astonished even King Ferdinand III “the Saint” and is considered one of the oldest in Europe.

Throughout history, the Royal Alcázar has served as the residence of the Spanish Royal Family in Seville, a function it still maintains today. Although it remains reserved for royalty, its doors are also open to visitors eager to discover its architectural and artistic treasures.
