Full description
Discover the Royal Palace of Turin on a guided tour featuring the Hall of Mirrors, the Chapel of the Holy Shroud and the Royal Armoury.
Discover the Royal Palace of Turin and the Savoy city on a guided tour with a licensed guide, exploring the artistic treasures and most beautiful squares of the city. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 and reopened to the public in 2007, the palace was originally an episcopal residence and later the Savoy family's residence in Turin, designed by architects Carlo and Amedeo di Castellamonte as a strategic centre of power.
The tour includes the Hall of Mirrors, built in 1684 and decorated with mirror-covered walls inspired by the famous hall of the same name at the Palace of Versailles, and the Chapel of the Holy Shroud, the building's most famous room, built to house the relic owned by the Savoy family since the mid-1400s and reopened in 2018 following an extensive restoration.
The visit also takes in the Pages' Hall, previously the Hall of Victories, with its famous carved and gilded "security door," Charles Albert's Bedroom, with its ceiling decorated by Viennese painter Daniel Seiter, and the Royal Armoury, commissioned by Charles Albert and now one of the world's most important weapons collections.
