This tour takes you to Aveiro, considered by many as the "Venice of Portugal", famous for its large network of canals that criss-cross the city. On this tour you will also take a cruise on a "moliceiro" boat (a traditional boat of this city) that will take you along the canals while admiring the unique tiled facades of the city. You will also have the opportunity to see the colourful houses in Costa Nova. Aveiro has a rich and varied gastronomy, and the "huevos blandos", a very sweet desert, are also one of the main representations of Aveiro.
Your expert guide will pick you up at the meeting point and take you to Aveiro and Costa Nova. On your way to Aveiro, the guide will give you information about Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of the Portuguese heritage.
The first stop is the beach of Costa Nova do Prado, famous only for the name Costa Nova. The most picturesque aspect of Costa Nova is its coastal road along which a line of wooden huts is painted with brightly coloured stripes alternating with white. Built by fishermen as shelters and equipment tents, the huts have now become quite characteristic holiday homes.
Cruise the glittering canals of Aveiro on a classic Moliceiro (traditional boat) Relax and enjoy the scenery on this traditional boat, which was once used to collect sea grasses in the lagoon.
