Discover the magic of the Sahara Desert on this 3-day adventure from Marrakech. Travel through some of the most spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco, visit ancient kasbahs, cross the High Atlas Mountains and experience the unforgettable opportunity to spend a night in a traditional Berber camp among the dunes of Merzouga.
Day 1: Marrakech - Aït Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Tinghir
Your adventure begins early in the morning with pick-up in Marrakech. You will cross the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass in the High Atlas, making several stops to admire the scenery and take photographs.
Your first stop will be the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will have free time to explore this iconic fortified village. Those who wish may join an optional guided visit with a local guide (payable directly on site). Afterwards, you will continue to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert and famous for its film studios, where you may enjoy optional visits before continuing to Tinghir.
At the end of the day, you will enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night at Hotel Bougafer or a similar hotel.
Day 2: Tinghir - Todra Gorges - Merzouga
After breakfast, you will visit the oasis of Tinghir and explore the impressive Todra Gorges accompanied by a local guide.
Later, you will continue to Merzouga, where you will begin an unforgettable camel trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Along the way, you will admire the sunset over the desert before arriving at the Berber camp.
After a traditional tea welcome, you will enjoy a Moroccan dinner accompanied by live Berber music under the stars before spending the night at La Source Camp or a similar camp. If you wish, you may also try sandboarding on the dunes (upon request).
Day 3: Merzouga - Marrakech
The day begins before sunrise with a camel ride to witness the first rays of sunlight over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, one of the most memorable moments of the journey. Afterwards, you will return to the camp to enjoy breakfast before beginning the return trip.
On the return journey, you will once again travel through the spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco, making the necessary stops to rest and enjoy the surroundings. Arrival in Marrakech is scheduled between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm, bringing to an end an unforgettable experience that combines nature, culture and tradition in the heart of the Sahara Desert.
