This walking tour of Dublin's historic centre follows the story of the Guinness family and its influence on the development of the city, led by a local guide who brings to life the history of one of Ireland's best-known dynasties.
The route starts in front of The Mansion House and passes the statue of Lord Plunket, Iveagh House and St Stephen's Green, home to the statue of Lord Ardilaun, who gave the park to the city. It continues to St Patrick's Cathedral, restored by Benjamin Lee Guinness, Marsh's Library, St Patrick's Park and the Iveagh Buildings, then through Dublin Castle and Temple Bar before crossing the River Liffey.
The tour ends at a pub closely linked to the origins of the dynasty, where each participant receives a pint of Guinness, alcoholic or non-alcoholic. This is an exterior tour focused on the family's architecture and history, so it does not include a visit to the Guinness Storehouse.
